~Inferno (More Tips)

By Otaiba Sheikh

To compliment my last set of tips here is the promised and
expected conclusion.

1) When starting in a Rexxon corridor world, the directional
indicator on the HUD display will point to the computer
interface, from which a map can be entered by pressing the [F]
key. Do not step on another marker or otherwise you will lose
the initial one.

2) Radiation belts in space will drain the INFERNO craft's
energy and shield, so make sure you don't deviate from the
combat zone.

3) Use the SID to detect any REXXON craft that are out of range
of the ship's 2D and 3D radar. And you probably know that you
can zoom in and out using the [<] and [>] keys.

4) Use Autonav 2 to track an enemy. When you are in a
comfortable position ,disengage and proceed with the kill.

5) Use the Autonavs to get a feel of the game, but when you are
more confident reduce their usage so as to get a higher score.

6) When approaching a combat zone, pick of the first targets
with long range missles(torpedoe 3), then as you get closer
reduce the range to torpedoe 2, opting for laser one once you
are right at the heart. Cluster missles are deadly and will
always result in maximum damage, but remember there's no such
thing as an infinite supply of cluster bombs.

7) Torpedoes are of the fire and forget variety, meaning that
you can fire a few, change view and engage a second target in
full knowledge that you first target will be dead pretty soon if
not already.

8) Do not go to fast in corridors: you are likely to lose
control and die (sorry, but you got o face the facts).

9) When entering REXXON rooms, take out any gun emplacements
and walkers before destroying the target, in order to reduce
shield damage. Hiding inside computers and other targets will
also avoid shield damage.

10) Always plan you routes with the Navicom before commencing a
mission withen a corridor world. Remember that the last target
you destroy will initiate meltdown, so scout about for a nearby
exit before you do anything drastic.

11) Save invincibility pods for emergency situations, such
aslarge space battles or heavily guarded rooms.

12) Flying at higher altitudes on the planets will reduce air
resistance and give your craft an much needed turbo boost.

13) The virtual view gives rather an unfair advanage in
dogfights by speeding up your locks on targets.

14) The REXXON craft cannot fly underwater on Hydra Verdi, so
you might as well hide their but try and remember that you use
twice as much energy.

15) Remember that Autonav track the enemy but doesn't account
for the local environment, so keep a look out for asteroids and
mountains (believe me, you'll never be able to live down the
fact that you crashed into a mountain, like for Gods sake do you
know how big they get???????????)

Got to leave you know, at the moment I'm trying to complete RISE
OF TRIAD which I bought a while ago whithout using the cheat
codes.
