SCP-32 (140-0600) Tape Tips Faxback Doc. # 7781

Tape cassette play can be affected if the tape is either too loose or too
tight.

Before playing a cassette, remove excess tape slack by turning the take-
up reel's hub with a pencil.

If you use the same cassette in auto-reverse often, it can become over-
tight. You can guard against this by occasionally fast-winding the tape
from beginning to end and then rewinding it.

Press [STOP/EJECT] before you disconnect the power. If you do not do
this, the capstan can distort the pinch roller, and cause a wavering sound
during tape play.

Periodically clean and demagnetize the tape heads. This assures maximum
output and superior high-frequency response. Your local Radio Shack store
carries a selection of tape head cleaner kits and tape head demagnetizers.
