Cordless Soldering Gun (640-2194) Care & Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 7267

The Techline Cordless Soldering Gun is an example of superior design and
craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the
soldering gun so you can enjoy it for years.

The soldering tip will need occasional retinning.

Keep the soldering tip free from build-up. Wipe it on a damp sponge
during use to prolong tip life.

Deposits will build up with use. Remove deposits by lightly rubbing
the tip with steel wool or a fine emery cloth. Do not use a file.
    Retin the tip after cleaning.

Keep the tip-fastening screws tight. Replacement tips and bulbs are
available at your local Radio Shack store.

Keep the soldering gun dry. If the soldering gun does get wet, wipe
it dry immediately. Liquids contain minerals that can corrode the
    electronic circuits.

Use and store the soldering gun only in normal temperature
environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic
devices, damage batteries, and distort or melt plastic parts.

Keep the soldering gun away from dust and dirt, which can cause
    premature wear of parts.

Wipe the soldering gun with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it
looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong
detergents to clean the soldering gun.

Modifying or tampering with the soldering gun's internal components can
cause a malfunction and invalidate the soldering gun's warranty. If your
soldering gun is not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio
Shack store for assistance.
