If you follow the instructions in this owner's manual and still have
trouble operating the TAD, the suggestions in this chart might be
helpful.  If you try everything here and still cannot get the TAD to
operate normally, contact your local Radio Shack store.

Problem                       Cause and Remedy

The TAD does not answer.      There is a bad power connection.  Check the
                              AC adapter and reconnect it, if necessary.

                              There is a bad phone line connection.  Check
                              the telephone cord and reconnect it, if
                              necessary.

                              The TAD is not set to answer calls.  Press
                              ANSWER so the ANSWER indicator lights.  Or,
                              remotely set the TAD to answer calls.

                              The outgoing announcement cassette is not
                              installed.  Install the cassette and set the
                              TAD to answer calls.

The TAD answers calls and     The incoming message tape is full.  Play the

                              using an audio tape head cleaning kit
                              (available at your local Radio Shack store).

                              Outgoing announcement or Incoming Message -
                              The tape is worn out.  Replace the cassette.
