ZPDA (250-3100) Dictionary History File Faxback Doc. # 2507

Question:

How can you delete the History File in the Dictionary Application?

NOTE: Before doing the following procedure make sure you have loaded
enough applications so that the dictionary application is no longer
in RAM and has been closed. Loading two or three applications should
close the Dictionary application. You must do this or you will get
an error " FM-03" when you try to delete the file mentioned in
      step #5.

Solution:

1. Turn on the Zoomer.

2. Tap on the launch ICON.

3. Tap on Utilities, then double tap on File Manager.

4. Once File Manager is loaded, note the second line from the top. This
is the current directory. It will have a folder ICON, then
"B:(INTERNAL)\GEOWORKS". If this line does not say "B:(INTERNAL)\GEO-
WORKS" double tap on the folder ICON until it says "B:(INTERNAL)\GEO-
   WORKS".

5. Next double tap on the PRIVDATA ICON. Then double tap on the STATE ICON.
You are now in the B:(INTERNAL)\GEOWORKS\PRIVDATA\STATE directory.
Note the ICON's in this directory. One ICON will say,
"(t... dict app (tra...". This is where the data for the History file
   in the dictionary is stored.

6. To delete this file, touch the ICON and drag it to the Wastebasket ICON
at the lower left corner of the screen, then release the ICON.

7. You will get a confirmation message asking if you are sure you want to
delete this file. Tap on delete. The file will be deleted.

NOTE: You will notice other file ICON's in this directory. Any one of
these files can be deleted if the criteria in Paragraph 6 is met.
These files are for the different applications that are run on the
Zoomer. These files store the data that keeps track of the
additions, deletions, and editing that is done in any given
application. By deleting these files you can free up to 30K of RAM.
