Hard-Copy Book Indexer 1.0 README.TXT

***Purpose***

This software is designed to help authors and editors index a
book (or any other printed material) with a minimum of difficulty.
Indexer 1.0 allows for 3 levels of hierarchy, automatic sorting of
page numbers, and seeking for redundant index entries. It is not
to be confused with the built-in capacity for many word-processors
to create simple indexes from data files. This software is designed
to be used with a print-out (like a page proof).

***Installation***

Installation is simple. Unzip the indexer.xlt file into your
templates directory. On my system, this is

e:\apps\office97\templates

To use indexer, open a new office document, and then click on the
indexer template icon. Indexer will start with a blank index.
(You could also add a subdirectory "Indexer" for a seperate tab
in the new office document dialog). Read indexer.doc for more
information on how to use indexer.

***Distribution***

Indexer is Freeware, but the archive must be distributed intact.
See indexer.doc for more info.
