INSTALLATION

To install PREDATOR from your Windows Desktop: -
(1)	Copy Pred160.exe to the desktop.
(2)	Double click the Pred160 icon from the Desktop (this file will be removed during installation).
(3)	Press the Yes tab in the Install Predator dialog box to confirm installation
(4)	Tick the Add to start-up group option if you wish PREDATOR to start-up automatically in back ground mode the next time you start your computer.

To install PREDATOR from floppy: -
(1)	Double click Pred160.exe from the floppy drive.
(2)	Press the Yes tab in the Install Predator dialog box to confirm installation
(3)	Check the Add to start-up group option if you wish PREDATOR to start-up automatically in back ground mode the next time you start your computer.

Running Predator in demo mode: -
(1)	On starting an unregistered copy of Predator a Registration Reminder dialog box will be displayed, do not fill in the form, this will allow the program to run in demo mode.
(2)	Click the Demo button.
(3)	Predator will operate in Demo mode for 8 days after which the program will require registration. 


Registering Predator: -
(1)	To register your copy of PREDATOR enter your complete details into the Registration - User Details dialog box
(2)	Click the Continue button, make any required changes in Windows Notepad and save this form. The registration form is saved under c:\Program Files\Renegade\ Predator-Registration.TXT
(2)	Email the Predator-Registration.TXT form to register@renegade.co.nz. or fax a printed copy to +64 3 383-9098.
(3)	On receipt of payment you will receive an emailed Registration Key Number to enable full program functionality.
(3)	Restart PREDATOR and press the Enter the key button to bring up the Registration Code Key Entry dialog box.
(4)	Paste or type the Registration Key Number into the empty box and select the Register button.

To uninstall PREDATOR: -
(1)	From Windows Control Panel select Add/remove Programs.
(2)	Under the Install/uninstall tab select the Predator colour file checker and press the Add/remove option button. 
(3)	Follow the Predator uninstall instructions. 


PREDATOR USERS GUIDE

Predator Settings.
(1)	File Scanning tab - select file types you wish to scan - defaults recommended
	[   ] Use Mackintosh resource fork files - This option will enable Macintosh image file checking (Only available under Windows NT4 or later).
	[X] Check Tiff files - Tick to select.
	[X] Check JPEG files - Tick to select.
	[X] Check EPSF files - Tick to select.
	[   ] Warn about GIF files - Tick to select, common Internet problem file format.

	[X] Examine file extensions - Tick this option to optimise file scanning.

	The remaining options under this tab are for advanced system configuration, it is highly recommended that these options remain at default settings.  For further advice please contact Renegade support.

(2)	Background tab - select file types you wish to log - defaults setting are recommended
	[X] Enable background scans - Tick 
	Scanning frequency (minutes)  [        ] - Enter a value greater  than the time required to scan the full system.
	Background alerts
	[X] Flash Taskbar Icon - Tick to select.
	[X] Flash Tray Icon - Tick to select.
	[X] Audible alert - Tick to select,(requires a sound card).
	[   ] Expand window - Tick to select.
	Logging options
	[X] Log RGB files - Tick to select, default option.
	[   ] Log CMYK - Tick to select, for Internet and diagnostic use .
	[   ] Log unknown colours - Tick to select,  for diagnostic purposes only.
	[   ] Log GIF files - Tick to select, if these files are a problem .


(3)	Directories tab - to Add, Remove or Scan now drives and/or directories to search.
	Add button - select a drive to add and press this button, double click the drive to expand directories, selected drives or directories will include all subdirectories.
	Remove button - use this option to deselect drives or subdirectories.
	Scan now button - use this option to scan all selected drives and directories.

(4)	Immediate scan tab - use this option to scan a selected drive or directories immediately including removable media such as Zip drives, floppy drives, SyQuest drives etc.
	[X]  Include subdirectories - Tick this option to select.

(5)	View log tab - View, Print, or launch your favourite image editing program by double clicking on one of the logged files.
