INTRODUCTION

Pictoscope is an ergonomic image viewer with all you need to enjoy your
digital images in various comfortable ways. It can display images in
four different forms:

1) Normal view: the image is contained in a normal window, with borders
and clip controls. It is displayed in the original format if it fits in
the screen, otherwise it is automatically reduced to the maximum size
fitting in the screen. The user can then optionally resize the image by
dragging the windows borders, hide the borders, set the image in a slow
and random motion. If the image is smaller then the screen, an option
allows to display the image enlarged to the maximum size fitting in the
screen. You can directly crop or resize the open picture, or call an
external image editor to manipulate it

2) Full screen view: the image is shown in the middle of the screen, on
a black background that fills the rest of screen, hiding anything else

3) Slide show with an optional status bar showing various indicators,
including the number of images unseen compared with the total number
of pictures; you can directly crop or resize pictures on the fly during
a slide show, or call an external image editor to manipulate it

4) Thumbnails

Above functions can be combined with a powerful search capability based
on character strings to be found in names of image files contained in a
directory or directory tree. Up to three search criteria can be entered,
with AND/OR operator. Once obtained the search results, the user can
run a slide show or create thumbnail with all the images found, no
matter in which directory they are.
