Thank you for your interest in Folder Synchronize.

Folder Synchronize is a 'command line' path comparison &
synchronization utility that can compare the files in two paths
and synchronize path contents using one of 8 synchronize methods.
We created Folder Synchronize for those who needed those functions
but not the GUI interface & other functions of our Directory
Toolkit utility. such as archive management, file operations, etc.
Folder Synchronize is a native 32-bit executable for use with
Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP.

Other features include: Switchable display (or not) of a progress
meter; A custom bitmap & message of your choice can be displayed
on the screen while an operation progresses; A 'No Cancel' switch
can be used to make it less easy for a procedure to be
interrupted; Require (or not) confirmation of file operations;
Complex include/exclude file masks that let you include/exclude
some file or subdirectores while including others; Multiple
operations can be submitted to the program via multiple
'configuration files'.

Folder Synchronize does not have a graphical user interface. The
program is controlled entirely through scripts that are passed to
the program executable via the command line. Scripts are ASCII
text files (PC format) that can be created with a text editor or
with our freeware 'Folder Synchronize Script Editor'. Scripts are
passed to the program executable via a command line.

Please click on the 'FoldSynch.hlp' file to launch a Winhlp file
that has more information on usage.

'FoldSyncSyntax.sfs' is commented sample script that outlines all
the script switches.

'FoldSyncSyntax_Original.sfs' is another commented script file
outlining an alternative script syntax. Several functions are
available using that style which are currently not available in
the 'FoldSyncSyntax.sfs' script style.

Sample scripts and test paths are in 'SampleScripts.zip'.

New features in version 1.1-2.5:
- A more closely unified script language.
- Additional synch functions.
- Prompting for 'Drive not ready' and 'Disk Full'. You
must have Confirm Updates=1 specified for those
  prompts to be available.
- Unix Compare mode (see script information).
- Environment variables supported for path names in
  Folder Synchronize syntax.
- Additional Directory Toolkit script switches supported
in the native Folder Synchronize script syntax.
- Additional Filters added.
- Folder Synchronize can now read Directory Toolkit
  script files without modification. Additional
features were added to Folder Synchronize to
accomodate many of the Directory Toolkit script
  options, including: Binary contents comparison
instead of the date/time stamp, Append to an existing
output report, Ability to customize output reports.
- Sorting of the file names by name, extension, date, size
before report is generated or an update operation is
  performed
- Binary compare of same size files can be used instead
of date stamp check to update different files in the
target directory and in the report generation.
- Custom bitmap can be displayed in the progress
  window.
- Progress window is displayed for the Compare
  Operation
- Custom message can be displayed
- A log file is produced detailing all operations or
  the comparison result
- Updates can be confirmed by the user or made
  automatically
