 --- 1. Introduction --------------------------------------------------------

AAA is an easy, quick and powerful tool for keeping and managing
notes. It can also be used as an Alarm/Scheduler. You can hide/show
it with a simple click on its icon in the System Tray.
Each NotePad that AAA creates has a maximum of 64 labeled and fully
configurable Sheets. Moreover it can store a History of the ClipBoard
of Windows and it can calculate several kinds of statistics.
AAA also supports text sorting, justifying, printing, autosaving,
	encryption... and much much more!

All updates will be firstly published in my HomePage so, if You want
to be up to date, check the URL http://web.mclink.it/M.Corsolini/
AAA is also available on VOLftp, Simtel and many other software
	archives on the internet.

 --- 2. Legal Stuff ---------------------------------------------------------

AAA is *FREEWare!*. That means You do not have to pay me anything and
I am not forced to give You support. Right right right? :)))
I do give support when I have time, but I can not guarantee You
anything and it might take a while before You get an answer.

Registration is NOT needed, but I always appreciate an EMail telling
me that You use (and like!) the program.

I take *NO* responsibility of *ANY* damages caused by this program!

You may freely use and distribute AAA, although it must be
distributed with all original files in their original format with NO
changes. You can not charge anyone for it. AAA may not be distributed
as part of any commercial product without permission by the author.

 --- 3. System Requirements -------------------------------------------------

AAA requires a 386 or better CPU, with at least 8 MBytes of RAM,
running Windows 95 (or later) or Windows NT 4.0 (or later), and
1 MByte free on the HD for the updating distribution or 10 MByte for
	the full one.

This release of AAA requires Visual Basic 6.0 RunTime Libraries.

 --- 4. How to INSTALL ------------------------------------------------------

If You have AAA_v400-Full.zip (full distribution)...
...create a temporary directory, UnZip there the file
AAA_v400-Full.zip, execute SETUP.EXE and go through with the
procedure of installation. Then You can delete the temporary
directory and You may copy/move the ShortCut to AAA of the
Start Menu to the "Startup" folder: this will open AAA each
		time You start Windows).

If You have AAA_v410.zip (updating distribution)...
...create a directory for AAA, UnZip in that directory
AAA_v410.zip (or, if it already exists, move ALL the contents
of the zipped file to that directory).
Create a ShortCut to AAA.exe in Your Start Menu (possibly
inside the "Startup" folder: this will open AAA each time You
		start Windows).

If You are updating a previous version You only need to overwrite
old files. Doing so You will keep the preexistent NotePad.

WARNING: if You are updating from a version between 1.10 and 2.50,
AAA will not start, claiming a corruption of its configuration file.
This happens because old AAA.ini and AAA.txt are now merged into the
single AAA.ini file. This means that You MUST use the program
AAA-Converter (available on my HomePage) in order to keep all Your
preexistent NotePads! Read the file Convert.txt for further details.

 --- 5. How to UNINSTALL ----------------------------------------------------

If, due to some unimaginable reason, You would not like AAA, You can
close AAA (if it is running) and...

(if You installed a full distribution of AAA)
...use the Control Panel "Add/Remove Programs" applet to
uninstall AAA. Then delete the installation directory and
any ShortCut You added to the Start Menu.

(if You installed only updating distributions of AAA)
...delete the installation directory and any ShortCut You
		added to the Start Menu.

That will completely uninstall AAA. :-(

 --- 6. How to Use ----------------------------------------------------------

	Alarm/Scheduler: The Alarm/Scheduler can start NON-executable files
even if they are not registered (i.e.: when You double-click
them Windows does not know which application can be used to
open them): You only have to add the name of the program for
opening them (in the "File to Start" TextBox), with complete
		path if required.
You can also use command line parameters.
If the paths or the filenames contain spaces you MUST use
		quotation marks, e.g.:
			"C:\Progs\Run It.exe" "C:\My Files\Foo.bar" /o
There is difference between "Repeat" an Alarm (in the
"Alarm/Scheduler Settings" window) and "Delay" it (in the
Message window): the former ("Repeat") set an alarm to be
repeated, for example, EVERY 4 days; the latter ("Delay")
appears each time an alarm rings with a message and set that
alarm to be repeated once more. An alarm automatically
repeated as above can be delayed when it rings.

Backup: If, for example, You use the default settings, AAA keeps six
backups of Your notes, in the files AAA.ini.Backup-??.log,
where ?? ranges from 00 to 05. If You want to restore one of
them (with the "Restore a Backup File..." item in the "File"
Menu) be careful that the number 05 is NOT necessarily the
most updated: look at the saving time!

ClipBoard History: ClipBoard History must be activated in the
"Options" window (look for the "ClipBoard History" tab). It
		only manages text, not images.

Command Line Parameters: You can start AAA with these command line
		parameters:
/open:filename (it makes AAA open the
						 NotePad "filename")
/m or /minimized	(it starts AAA minimized into
						 the System Tray)
/? or /h or /help	(it shows the "Informations
						 About AAA" window)
Caps and blank spaces are not compulsory. Any incorrect
		parameter will be ignored.

The parameters are case unsensitive and not cumulative: use
only one of them at once.

Encryption: just use the "Set PassWord for the Current NotePad..."
item in the "NotePads Management" SubMenu of the "File" Menu.
Note that encryption slows down AAA when it opens or saves
		large NotePads.

HotKeys: You can use HotKeys for all the Menu items. Look at Menu
itself for the complete list of available HotKeys.

PopUp Menu: All the settings can be changed in the "Options" window
but, to work faster, You can directly right click anywhere in
the TabStrip of the main window to reach all the commands
concerning Tabs and Sheets. Even the TextBox and the ToolBar
		have their own PupUp Menu.

Printing: AAA always prints trying to use the screen font. Lines too
long will be truncated if WordWrap is selected in the
		"Options" window.

Sum Up: If You use the "Sum Up" command, and You want to format
numbers, You may use <,> or <'> or <`> or <SPACE> as thousand
separator; You must use <.> as decimal separator.

I hope that all the other functions, options and commands were self-
explanatory... otherwise You can help me to write down a more
	comprehensive Help file!!!

 --- 8. Known Problems ------------------------------------------------------

Find & Replace: all that routines are full of bugs. One of these days
I will rewrite them from scratch.

Millennium (Y10K): most features of AAA will not work after AD 9999.

Sheets: each Sheet of AAA can contain no more than 65,534 characters
and can manage only text (no images, sounds or movies). That
is a limitation of the TextBox control.

There is always one more bug!
