OUTPUT MANAGEMENT FEATURES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SIMSTAT Notebook window is used to displays the statistical output for all
analyses performed during a session.  The notebook metaphor provides an
efficient way to browse and manage ouptuts.
   The text output of each analysis is displayed on a separate page. You
    can turn pages either with the mouse by clicking on the page corner
    icons at the bottom of the notebook or by using the <PgUp> and <PgDn>
    keyboard keys.
   While each page can be annotated or edited, it is also possible to add
    empty pages for recording ideas or remarks, sketching an analysis plan,
    or writing down interpretation of results.
   Tabs may also be added to create sections in the notebook, allowing you
    to store different types of analysis in different sections of the
    notebook.
   An index of all analysis in the notebook is also provided. This index
    can be used to quickly locate and go to a specific page, move pages
    within the notebook, or delete some pages.
SCRIPTING/MULTIMEDIA FEATURES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   Script commands automate statistical analysis, data filtering and
   transformation.

   RECORD SCRIPT feature automatically generates commands corresponding to
    operations performed with menus and dialog boxes.

   Flow control features such as IF-THEN-ELSE statements, GOTO or GOSUB
    commands, commands to run external programs (DOS and Windows), or
    execute another script.

   Can read, write, and perform mathematical operations on user defined
    variables or any database variable.

   Creates menus, text boxes, input boxes, dialog boxes, multiple items
    questions, etc. (responses from a user can be stored in memory
    variables or in a data file).

   Multimedia features: plays sound (.WAV), music (.MDI), and movie (.AVI)
    files, displays graphics (.BMP, .ICO, .WMF) and text.

GRAPHIC FEATURES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Charts window displays all high-resolution charts created during a
session.
   Full control of axis, labels, legends, colors, line drawing, etc.
   Charts can be copied to clipboard or saved to disk as picture (.BMP),
    Windows Metafile (.WMF), or tab separated values.
BONUS FEATURE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   SIMCALC probability calculator computes probabilities for 9 types of
    test/distribution as well as confidence intervals for proportions,
    mean, and correlation. This utility program also computes contingency
    table statistics and inter-raters agreement statistics from data table.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SIMSTAT will run on any computer system running Windows 95,98,Me,XP or NT.  A
minimum of 64MB of free RAM and 6MB of disk space are required.
                  ADDITIONAL STATISTICAL MODULES
                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

STATITEM v1.1b - Classical Item analysis

   STATITEM v1.1 performs classical item and test analysis for multi-choice
   item questionnaires. It computes the proportion endorsing and the
   item-total correlation for correct and alternate responses. It also
   provides endorsement rates for various achievement levels and
   descriptive statistics on the total score including the mean, median,
   minimum, maximum, variance, skewness, kurtosis, etc., as well as
   Cronbach's alpha internal consistency and Ferguson's discrimination
   index. Descriptive statistics are also computed on percent correct and
   item-total correlations.

   STATITEM v1.0 is available to registered users of SIMSTAT for $35.00
   only (plus shipping and handling)

MVSP v3.1 - MultiVariate Statistical Program

   MVSP is a program for the IBM-PC and compatibles that performs a variety
   of ordination and cluster analyses. It provides an inexpensive yet easy
   means of analyzing your data in fields ranging from ecology and geology
   to sociology and market research. MVSP is in use at hundreds of sites
   in over 70 countries. The results of analyses using MVSP have been
   published in numerous journals, including Science, Nature, Ecology,
   Journal of Petroleum Geology, and Journal of Biogeography.

   MVSP performs several types of eigenanalysis ordinations:principal
   components (PCA), principal coordinates (PCO), and correspondence/
   detrended correspondence analyses (CA/DCA). It can also perform
   cluster analysis, using nineteen different distance or similarity
   measures and seven clustering strategies. Diversity indices may be
   calculated on ecological data; these include Simpson's, Shannon's,
   and Brillouin's indices.

  Once your data have been analysed you can plot the results directly.
  Select the ordination axes you want to see and scattergrams will be
  drawn. Dendrograms of the cluster analysis results are produce
  automatically. These graphs can then be printed on a variety of output
  devices.

  MVSP can be used as a stand-along DOS program or invoked from SIMSTAT for
  WIndows. The shareware version of MVSP is available from many BBS or you
  can contact the author at the address below. MVSP version 2.2 or later
  is required for use with SIMSTAT.

  MVSP can be purchased from Provalis Research or directly from Warren L.
  Kovach, Kovach Computing Services, 85 Nant-y-Felin, Pentraeth,
  Anglesey, LL75 8UY Wales, UK. CompuServe: [100016,2265], Internet:
  info@kovcomp.demon.co.uk.

  MVSP v3.1 is available for $140 (plus shipping & handling).

EASY FACTOR ANALYSIS v4.0

  EASY FACTOR ANALYSIS v4.0 was written to allow even computer neophytes to
  perform two common types of factor analysis: principal components
  analysis, and image covariance factor analysis. The program has a good
  selection of features, such as variable criteria to limit factoring,
  varimax rotation, factor scores for both rotated and unrotated solutions,
  and flexible output.

  EFA v4.0 is available for $49 (plus Shipping & Handling)
