 1. PRODUCT OVERVIEW
 ---------------------------------------------------------
BS/1 Small Business is an integrated accounting system
for small to medium-sized businesses: Accounts Payable,
Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and Inventory.

Multi-currency features facilitate selling and purchasing
internationally. Payables and receivables are tracked
separately for each currency. Also the GL system shows
revenue and expenses converted from foreign currency to
domestic currency, so you can trade in multiple currencies
while your books remain in domestic currency.

Taxes are very flexible to facilitate VAT, GST, PST, HST,
 etc. in various countries.

Invoices and checks may be handwritten or computer printed.

User-defined financial statements can be created through a
simple set-up process. GL account totals and inventory
totals can be viewed on screen with drill-down to original
 source transactions.

An integrated dialer is linked to customers, invoices, etc.
 plus email and browser links.

The system comes with sample data to provide a quick
overview of it's capabilities and there is an optional
Getting Started wizard to assist with entering initial live
data. The wizard sets up common GL accounts which can later
be changed, deleted, or added to.

BS/1 Small Business has a very simple and intuitive interface,
suitable for use by non-accountants while powerful enough to
 satisfy experienced accountants.

Multi-company. Network-ready. Delphi source code is available
royalty-free for Paradox, DBISAM and Advantage databases.

 ---------------------------------------------------------
 2. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
 ---------------------------------------------------------
BS/1 Small Business requires Windows 95, 98, NT, or 2000,
or a 100% compatible operating system, an 80486 or better
processor, and 16Mb of system memory.

About 10Mb of disk space is required for program files.

 ---------------------------------------------------------
 3. INSTALLATION
 ---------------------------------------------------------
Before installing, you MUST un-install any previous version
and delete the database folder (c:\bs1\data).

BUT FIRST! To save your data you should first copy the folder
(directory) containing your data. eg. create folder named
C:\BS1\DataOld and copy to it the contents of C:\BS1\Data.
You should also back up your data. After installation, create a
new company database (not Sample Data) from the Welcome screen
or from menu File -> New Company. Then import your old data
via the "Import" option on menu File -> General.

Note: If upgrading from prior to version 2.0, in order to enter
new manual AR invoices you will first need to specify a warehouse
via File | Inventory | Other | Warehouses.

Note: If upgrading from prior to version 1.6, any "shipto"
customers linked to a different "billto" are NOT imported.

If you downloaded bs1sb.zip (or bs1sb1xx.zip etc.) you must
unzip (decompress) the file using PKZip, WINZip or a similar
utility. PKZip is available from www.pkware.com.

To start the installation, run the SETUP.EXE program by double-
clicking on it or via Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

For network and multicompany options see online help.
