                         CALENDAR Version 2.01
			     (Freeware)

    1.00 GENERAL DESCRIPTION :

CALENDAR V200 is simple program which shows an easy browsable Calendar.
By Calendar one can browse through the months using arrow keys. The keys
needed for the function of Calendar are given below.

<-- (Left arrow) = Previous year
--> (Right arrow) = Next year
	    ( Up arrow ) = Previous month
	    (Down arrow) = Next month
w/W = Writes the present year Calendar on a file(with .dat extension)
	e/E = Exit

By w/W option one can write a full year calendar for the present month he/she is viewing
to a file named automatically [ cal(the present year).dat format ] in the default directory.
One can later print it to get a big sized calendar.

    1.01 TIPS

One can get a wall hangable Calendar by increasing the character size in printer or with
slight modification of the Dat file .

    2.00 CALENDAR Background :-

I started making a Calendar program in my school days. Every year at the month of
october/december I had to face a big problem for scheduling my next years program. Also
I had problems when someone asked me the day when I born. There was no one to help me but
my MUM who taught me the calculations for making a calendar at that time. Later when I was
introduced with computer and managed to learn GWBASIC I started making the calendar
program. Soon I was able to make the program (version 1.00 of Calendar) which usually asked
for a date from the user and prints the corresponding day.

After that I started enhacing the program by showing a full month on the screen. In
the mean time as I learned other commands in basic I planned to build a customised input
routine and then to join that routine to Calendar. The journey became very big since the
program being built in so many intervals it lagged a proper structure. But I managed to
build that and make it error free. The features I included in the input routines are :-

	i) one can edit his previous field's entry by arrow keys

ii) one can not enter values other than required data ie. the month name field is built
in such a way that if one starts entering numeric data it will accept values (1-12) and any
other keys(alphabet) are discarded whereas if one starts entering month name with alphabet
keys it will only accept month names(JAN,FEB..) and not any other keys(numeric), even it
will not accept the keys which do not represent a month name.

iii) All the fields take a default value for the present month , year, century if one
simply press enter in each of the field .

At last I added the browsing feature, becuause I felt very annoying while intending
to see just the next month - again I had to come to the input screen and enter the new
    values

Since then BASIC became my favourite language, even in the days of College I try to
write programs in BASIC whenever I get time.

   3.00 File list :-

	Readme.txt - This file
	calv201.exe - The Calendar program

   4.00 Licensing :-

I am distributing the program as a freeware. Any one can freely redistribute the
program provided it includes all the files (readme.txt and calv200.exe) . If anyone
finds the program to be useful or likes the program please mail me at my following
address or e-mail me at (anindyadc@yahoo.com). I shall be very thankful if I am reported
any programming bugs or enhancement ideas.

   5.00 Known Bugs :-

I am not sure how far it works correctly for the past years ( ie. before 18th century,
since I had no ways to check it out ). If someone tries to come before (0000) years or after
(9999) years, program will give unexpected result.

6.00 version news: In Calendar version 2.01 many bugs are fixed over calendar version 2.00
Actually the previous version was wrongly loaded.
