[Properties]

Bismuth is a heavy, brittle metal. It can be polished to a lustrous,
gray-white color with a slight tinge of pink. It is rarely seen in this
form, however, because it is usually alloyed with other metals.
Bismuth is the last member of the Group-VA elements on the periodic
table. This makes it the heaviest of the nitrogen elements. In some
respects, bismuth is chemically similar to a couple of its fellow group
members, arsenic (As) and antimony (Sb).
