MANUAL UPDATE FOR DOS VET QUARTER 3 (Version 9.5x)

1. The Readme.txt file now contains all of the Manual Update information for this upgrade.

2. The default log filename has been changed from LOG_FILE.LOG to LOG_FILE.TXT. All existing
log files will be unchanged by this improvement, but any new log files that accept the default
log will have the new name. These changes have been made due to customer requests to allow
easier access to the log file.

3. An extra file called VIRUSES.TXT has been added to the DOS Vet disk. This text file contains
a list of all the viruses that are detected by this version of Vet.

5. A new option "Check all documents" has been added to the Setup | ??? Test | Test Procedures
menu. Whenever you attempt to open a Word document it will invoke the improvements to DOS and
the resident protection will scan the file for viruses before allowing the file to be loaded.

6. While attempting to clean files (in earlier copies of Vet) a file was deleted if Vet was
unable to clean the file. Version 9.5x will present the option to Ignore, Rename or Delete
any file that it is unable to clean.

NOTES:
If you are using DOS and Window 3.1x you should use the resident protection that is offered
by Vet for Windows 3.1x as it will provide better protection due to the multi-tasking
environment that is available under MS Windows.

LATE BREAKING NEWS!
*******************
The Cyclops incorrectly reports that Macro Virus Protection has been incorporated into Vet
for Dos. We are not shipping this feature in 9.5 because we do not have a bullet proof
solution ready in time A solution will be available soon and if you would like to beta test
this, please contact our technical support department. It is anticipated that this feature
will ship in Vet 9.6.
Please continue to use vetmacro.exe for complete macro virus protection under DOS.
