RECORDING WITH THE BUILT-IN CONDENSER MICROPHONES

Note: Before recording onto a cassette tape, use a six-sided pencil to
wind the tape past the leader.

1. Load a blank cassette or one you want to record over with the open
edge facing up, the full reel to the right, and the side you want to
    record on facing the door.

2. Press RECORD. Both PLAY and RECORD lock down and recording begins.
The ALC circuit automatically sets the recording level.

3. Press STOP to stop recording.

RECORDING WITH EXTERNAL MICROPHONES

Connect external microphones to the EXT MIC jacks. The built-in
microphones are automatically disconnected.

Use the recording procedures shown in the previous section.

BATTERY/RECORD Indicator

While you record, the BATTERY/RECORD indicator lights when sound is
recorded, and does not light when sound stops.

If the indicator lights steadily during playback, the batteries are weak.
However, if the batteries completely run out, the indicator does not light
at all.
