PROGRAMMED PLAY

You can program the CD player to play up to 16 tracks in any order you
choose.

Storing/playing A Programmed Sequence

1.  Press STOP to stop the CD.  The display shows the CD's total number
    of tracks playing time.

2.  Press PROGRAM.  The PROGRAM indicator and 0 0 P-01 appear on the
    display.

3.  Press SKIP/SEARCH |< or >| to select the desired track.  The selected
    track number appears on the display.

4.  Press PROGRAM.  The selected track is stored and the next program
    number appears on the display.

5.  Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to store up to 16 tracks.

Notes:  You can store a track more than once.

        When all 16 memory locations are full, -01 and the first track's
        number appear on the display.

6.  To play the programmed sequence, press PLAY/PAUSE.  The CD player
    plays the CD starting with the first programmed track and the display
    shows the play indicator, the current track number, and the current
    track's elapsed playing time.

Notes:  Programming is not completed until you press PLAY/PAUSE.

        To repeat, skip over, or search for tracks, see "Special CD Player
        Features."

Checking A Programmed Sequence

To check the programmed sequence, while the CD is stopped repeatedly
press PROGRAM.  As you press PROGRAM the program indicator shows each
stored track number.

Replacing Tracks In A Programmed Sequence

1.  While the CD player is stopped, repeatedly press PROGRAM until the
    track number you want to replace and the program check indicator
    appear on the display (example, you want to replace track 3 with
    track 8 and track 3 is stored in the 3rd memory location.  03 C-03
    appears).

2.  Press SKIP/SEARCH to select the replacement track number.  The newly
    selected track number and the current program indicator appear on the
    display (example, 08 P-03 appears).

3.  Press PROGRAM to store the selected track.  The track number and
    program indicator appears on the display (example, 08 C-03 appears).

4.  Repeat steps 1 through 3 to replace up to 16 tracks.

NOTE:  You can store a track more than once.

Erasing A Programmed Sequence

Any of the following actions will erase the programmed sequence:

Press STOP repeatedly until the PROGRAM indicator turns off and the
total number of tracks and the CD's total playing time appears on the
display.

Press PUSH/OPEN after the CD to either RADIO OFF/TAPE or RADIO.

Disconnect the power source.

Special Cd Player Features

Automatic Search Music System (ASMS)

While playing a CD, you can press SKIP/SEARCH to skip through all the CD
tracks or the tracks in a programmed sequence to select a desired track.

Press and release SKIP/SEARCH |<< to return to the beginning of the
current track.

Press and release SKIP/SEARCH >>| to skip forward to the beginning of
the next track.

Repeatedly press SKIP/SEARCH |<< or >>| to skip backward or forward
through additional tracks.

Audible Search

While playing any track on a CD, you can press and hold down SKIP/SEARCH
>>| or |<< to search through the track to find a desired section.  You
hear the music at a higher speed and lower volume while the CD player
searches.

Press and hold down SKIP/SEARCH >>| for forward search.

Press and hold down SKIP/SEARCH |<< for reverse search.

To resume normal play, release SKIP/SEARCH >>| or |>>.

Repeat Play

You can repeat a single track, the entire CD, or a programmed sequence.

To repeat a single track, press MODE before or during play.  REPEAT
appears on the display and the CD player repeatedly plays the selected
track.

To repeat the entire CD, press MODE twice before or during play.
REPEAT ALL appears on the display and the CD player repeatedly plays
the entire CD.

To repeat a programmed sequence, press MODE twice before or during
programmed play.  PROGRAM and REPEAT ALL appear on the display and
the CD player repeatedly plays the programmed sequence.

To cancel repeat play, press MODE until REPEAT or REPEAT ALL disappears
from the display.

Intro Play

During intro play, the CD player scans through all the CD's tracks and
plays the first 10 seconds of each track.

Notes:

Intro play does not work with a programmed sequence.

You must select intro play before the CD player begins playing a CD.

At the stop mode, press MODE three times until INTRO appears on the
display.  Then press PLAY/PAUSE.  The CD player plays the first 10
seconds of each track.

Note:  After it plays the 10 seconds of the last track during intro play,
       the CD player stops playing the CD and the display shows the total
       number of tracks and the total playing time.

During intro play if you want to listen to a specific track, within 10
seconds after you begin to hear the track, press PLAY/PAUSE again to turn
off the play and resume normal play.

Shuffle Play

During shuffle play, the CD player plays all the tracks on the CD once,
selecting them in random order.

Before play, press MODE four times until SHUFFLE appears on the display.
then press PLAY/PAUSE.  The CD player selects and plays each of the
tracks in random order.  When all the tracks on a CD have been played
once, the CD player automatically stops.

Notes:  None of the tracks will be played more than once.

        Shuffle play does not work with a programmed sequence or repeat
        play.

You must select shuffle play before the CD player begins playing a CD.
If you select shuffle play while the player is playing a CD, SHUFFLE
appears on the display but does not work.
