IBM ThinkPad
System UUID Update Diskette Version 1.00
========================================

What This Diskette Does
-----------------------

The UUID (Universally Unique IDentifier) is a very unique number assigned to
an individual system to identify it and it is required to support PXE (Preboot
eXecution Environment) function designed in WfM (Wired for Management)
initiative.
The System UUID Update Diskette creates a UUID for your ThinkPad and stores
it into the system non-volatile memory.
It requires to update a BIOS which supports UUID/PXE, prior to run this
program.
The supported models are as follows.
   - ThinkPad 770/770E/770ED (BIOS date 09/22/98 or later is required.)
   - ThinkPad 600 (BIOS date 09/22/98 or later is required.)

Note: This program should be applied only once. If a UUID is already assigned
and recorded in your system, no change will be applied.
